March 2011 - Useful information relating to ATEX certification

Tramec srl certified its products according to ATEX CE 94/9 Directives

Products to be supplied in conformity with the following categories :

Category 2 - named ATEX 2

This protection is suitable for standard functioning and for frequent interferences or for devices subject to possible breakdown

To be identified by the letter A at the beginning of the description of the gearbox

Classified as devices belonging to

Group II , Category 2G and 2D (G for gas and D for dust)

T4 is the temperature class for gas and 130°C for dust.

Zone 1 – 2 – 21 – 22

Mark ATEX 2 = II 2G D ck T4 130°C IP 66.

Gearboxes to be utilized at the input speed of 1400 RPM and in ambient temperature from – 20°C up to 40°C

Category 3 – named ATEX 3

Protection suitable for standard running

To be identified by the letter B at the beginning of the description of the gearbox

Classified as devices belonging to

Group II, Category 3G and 3D (G for gas and D for dust)

T4 is the temperature class for Gas , and 130° for Dust

Zone 2 – 22

Mark ATEX 3 = II 3 G D ck T4 130° IP 66

Could be utilized for speed between 500 RPM and 1400 RPM and in ambient temperature from – 20°C up to 40° C
