Permanent magnet DC motors are produced as standard with IEC unified couplings.

Rotation speed adjustment is obtained by suitably varying the armature voltage, while reversing the direction of rotation is obtained by reversing the polarity of the supply voltage, an operation that must only be carried out when the armature is at a standstill in order not to damage the motor.

Varmec's range of DC motors consists of the following series:

• MB - MQ, motors without fan, with IP54 protection as standard, and IP55 or IP65 on request. Available in 4 sizes (40-56-71-80), voltage 12 - 170V and power ratings between 0.5-15 kW.
• MBV - MQV, self-ventilated motors with IP54 protection as standard, and IP55 or IP65 on request. Available in 3 sizes (56-71-80), voltage 12 - 170V and power between 0.2-1.2 kW.
• DN, motors with tacho generator dynamo.

DC motors can be supplied with mounting feet, input flanges and motor shafts in line with IEC dimensions.

Upon request, all DC motors in the range can be customised, configured and arranged with motor brake, tacho generator dynamo, thermal protection, tropicalisation and anodisation, special input flanges, custom painting and assembling with gearboxes.
