ATEX Certified Gearboxes

Tramec gearboxes are intended for use in environments called "potentially explosive atmospheres", i.e. atmospheres in which the occurrence of particular ambient conditions (flammable substances in the state of gas, vapour, fog and dust mixed with air) and/or the operation of specific equipment can cause ignition and propagation of an explosion. Explosive gas mixtures or dusts concentrations can cause serious damage and lethal injuries if they get in contact with hot parts, live electrical parts and/or moving parts of the gearbox. All Tramec ATEX gearboxes are designed and manufactured in compliance with the Essential Safety Requirements of Annex II of the "ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU" and are classified as devices belonging to GROUP II, CATEGORY 2 (G gas and D dust) and therefore suitable for working in ZONES 1 and 2 (gas) and 21 and 22 (dust), for CATEGORY 3 suitable for working in ZONE 2 (gas) and 22 (dust).
